Founded in 1965, the Akron Metro Parks Hiking Club schedules hikes throughout Summit County, including trails in all MetroParks and Cuyahoga Valley and neighborhoods in and around Akron. Our minimum mileage for most hikes is 5 miles; however occasionally we offer 3 mile leisure walks. We also offer social events throughout the year, including a club picnic in the summer and our annual soup/chili hike every February. We also schedule weekend trips outside the area to other parts of Ohio and neighboring states. After your first three hikes as a guest, you are welcome to join the Club for an annual membership fee of $10.00 for singles and $12.50 for families.
